Release of Independent Student Exchange 2022 PMM 2022: Temporary Exchange, Meaning Forever

Jakarta, September 14, 2021. The challenge of higher education today is to build bridges between technical skills and non-technical skills, so that students are not only capable academically but also capable of socializing and adapting. Therefore, higher education needs to develop programs that provide flexibility for students to increase their technical (academic) capacity as well as their non-technical capacity.

The adaptation to the higher education narrative is outlined by the Legal Studies Study Program, one of which is the Independent Student Exchange (PMM) program. In 2022, through the Merdeka Campus Competition Program (PKKM) Grant, the first batch of PMM will be dispatched to the Faculty of Law, University of Warmadewa Bali. Thirteen students have been selected to be representatives of the Undergraduate Law Study Program at Pancasila University in this activity. It is they who are expected to later be able to demonstrate that this temporary exchange will be meaningful forever for both them and the institution.

Temporary exchange, meaning forever as the jargon of PMM, was re-emphasized by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Pancasila, Prof. Dr. Eddy Pratomo, S.H., M.A. In his speech, he explained that PMM is a program designed so that students can have the opportunity to experience a different academic and socio-cultural atmosphere. Studying at other universities challenges students to adapt to new academic habits. Living in a new place challenges students to adapt to different customs and socio-cultural conditions. This new horizon will certainly be pieces of meaningful experiences and memories for students. Furthermore, he also emphasized the importance of maintaining the good name of the original institution and asked students to prove that they are indeed worthy of being PMM 2022 participants by showing active participation in every activity at Warmadewa University.

In line with the explanation above, the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Ms. Zaitun Abdullah, S.H., M.H., again emphasized the objectives of the 2022 PMM program. Students must continue to track achievements because the results of lectures at the Faculty of Law, Warmadewa University will be recognized for a maximum of 20 credits. She also added that PMM 2022 is an excellent opportunity for students to enrich their academic and non-academic experiences.

Furthermore, Mr. Adnan Hamid, S.H., M.H., M.M added that in PMM 2022 students are required to be mature, responsible and always maintain the good name of the institution and family. Wise in thinking and acting and interpreting PMM as one of the institutional efforts to provide opportunities for students to study in a new environment.

In closing, the Dean submitted the Decree of the Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Pancasila Number: 1249/Kep/D/FH/IX/2022 concerning Participants of the Independent Student Exchange Program for Odd Semester Academic Year 2022/2023 to student representatives and again emphasized that students can show their achievements in this PMM 2022.

This year the Law Clinic focuses on Independent Student Exchange and Collaborative Research with partners. Meanwhile, in the Career Empowerment Program, an internship program is developed that is in line with MBKM policies where internship experiences are recognized in credits, accompanied by programmed collaboration with partner institutions.
