UNIDA, Dr. Nurwati, SH., MH who was also the moderator of the event explained that this activity was aimed at implementing cooperation between the Faculty of Law, UNIDA and the Faculty of Law, UP as well as work in the academic field to improve accreditation through visiting lecturers.

As the first resource person, H. Bambang Widjojanto explained that corruption is believed to be one of the causes of poverty and the plunder of Natural Resources (SDA) which are the collateral for Indonesia’s future.

“If you look at the total value of state losses from the land and banking sectors, it is very large. The potential for corruption is in the regional head and in the party whose representation is in the council members,” said Bambang Widjojanto.

He also explained that currently corruption is also happening in villages related to the misuse of the Village Fund Budget.

Meanwhile, as the second resource person, Prof. Agus Surono said that the root of the problem of corruption occurred because of intentions, abilities and opportunities.

Prof. Agus also said that locations and budgets prone to corruption include sources of budget allocation, sources of state revenue, and users of budgets and assets.

“To fortify oneself and remain istikomah to uphold Anti-Corruption, the basis is Pancasila, because in the fourth paragraph of the opening of the 1945 Constitution, it is to protect the entire nation and the entire homeland of Indonesia, educate the nation’s life, promote public welfare, and participate in carrying out world order,” said Prof. Agus Surono.

According to Prof. Agus, who is also an expert on criminal law, said that the efforts that can be made in tackling Corruption Crimes are anti-corruption education through the cultivation of Pancasila character education at all levels of education, both formal and non-formal.

“In addition, improving the competence and integrity of law enforcement officers at all levels within the Criminal Justice System, and renewing criminal sanctions in overcoming criminal acts of corruption by applying heavy fines according to the value of state losses due to corruption (according to the Asset Recovery principle), It is regulated in the Material Law (KUHP and the Corruption Eradication Law), as well as Formal Law (KUHAP), including the regulation on the management of assets resulting from corruption,” explained this Professor of Pancasila University.

Not only that, Prof Agus emphasized, it is necessary to make detailed and explicit fines as a principle of applying asset recovery for each state financial loss or state economic loss, for each it can be multiplied by 2, 3, 4, and so on by applying the analytical method. economics of law. It also continues to monitor and evaluate permits in the Natural Resources Sector by imposing sanctions on the revocation of business licenses, and even the dissolution of corporations that commit corruption offenses.
