The historical development of the Faculty of Law Universitas Pancasila is an integral part of the history of Universitas Pancasila.
Pancasila University (old) was established in 1963 with the status of “Registered” at the Department of Higher Education and Science with Minister of PTIP Decree No. 90/B-Swt/P-64 dated July 13, 1964. At the time of its establishment, Pancasila University had six faculties, namely: Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Geography, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Social Politics, and Faculty of Engineering. Pancasila University led by Mrs. H. Subandrio was taken over by the students on March 14, 1966 which was handed over by the Assistant Rector for Education Mr. Suratman, S.H. Pancasila University (new) is a combination or more precisely a merger between Pancasila University (old) and Bung Karno University.
The idea of merging Pancasila University (old) with Bung Karno University (old), according to Abdulkadir Besar, S.H., came from Mashuri, S.H., whose main goal was to preserve the essence of the motivation for the establishment of the two universities, as a university with Pancasila personality and as an institution to study the basis of the State scientifically.
The merger of the two universities was carried out with the signing of the Merger Charter by Lt. Col. Amir Murtono, S.H. (as an officer assigned by Menkohankam/Pangab General A.H. Nasution), Lieutenant Colonel Urip Widodo, S.H. and Lieutenant Colonel Abdulkadir Besar, S.H. with witnesses Director General Mashuri, S.H. Pancasila University was established with notarial deed C.H.S. Lumbantobing, S.H. No. 14 dated January 9, 1970 and its status was approved by the Minister of Education and Culture with Decree No. 0117/U/1978 dated March 13, 1978.
The official merger process was held on October 28, 1966, on the campus of Pancasila University, Jalan Borobudur 7, Central Jakarta (which is now used for the development of the Postgraduate Program School for Pancasila University). On the date and month of the signing of the merger charter, namely, October 28, 1966, it was declared the birthday of Pancasila University (new) which is officially commemorated every year.
The Faculty of Law of Pancasila University itself for the first time in 1963, has begun to accept new student registrations located in the SMP Negeri IV building, Jalan Perwira 10, Central Jakarta which was successfully borrowed by the foundation.
The Faculty of Law of Pancasila University (FHUP) is under the Pancasila University Education and Development Foundation (YPPUP), according to the notarial deed of GHS Lumban Tobing, S.H., Number 14, dated January 9, 1970 and enhanced by the same notarial deed number 1 dated November 1, 1983. Now with the development and growing interest, the teaching and learning process requires more adequate facilities and infrastructure. For this reason, since 1992 the Faculty of Law of Pancasila University has occupied a new building in Srengseng Sawah, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta.
